The Grizzly G1079R 16″ Drum Sander w/ Rubber Conveyor is a smaller version of the G1066 24” drum Sander has a motor that is capable of turning two 6” drums at 2100 surface feet per minute. Like the bigger version, the 16” drum sander is equipped with three pressure rollers and two 4” dust collection ports.
There is only one review of this sander, from January 2009, which gives the sander 4 stars. The reviewer states that the drum sander works great, but that there are issues with the sanding belts. He says that the sander itself is worth the price, but that because the belts keep splitting, he will not be purchasing Grizzly belts. He also states that the clips to replace the belts were difficult to get back on so he used duct tape to hold the belts on and hasn’t had any problems.
