The Sand-Flee Portable 18″ Drum Sander, model SF-1800, is a tabletop sander that is safe and portable and great for medium sized sanding jobs. It sands items 18-36 inches without a height limit. The machine features a new textured powder coated steel base, and a new super-rigid 1/4″ steel nickel-plated top allows for heavier objects such as cabinetry work and accepts magnetic feather boards.
There are two reviews on Amazon for this product. The first was left in November 2010. This reviewer was unhappy with the machine, stating that the motor bogged down with anything but the smallest piece of wood and when he asked for a replacement motor he had more trouble.
The second review, from September 2011, stated that the machine was of great quality and design with a quality Baldor motor with more than enough power, which is extremely quiet, and he’s not yet been able to stop the motor by applying pressure to the wood. He also stated that he loved being able to connect a shop vac to the dust port, and that he would recommend this tool “without hesitation”.
